how are you doing?
well.. guys I'm going to tell you about my learning activity yesterday exactly on friday evening at 18.30 pm when I have english morphology class. actually I really lazy attending the class because I was not in the mood yesterday. I planned not to attend the class... how lucky I'm because I did not do my plan because if I did it I would regret it. fuihhh!!
our class in lab. two. when I entered the class, it was crowding by students from other classes. I thought I entered the wrong class and I planned to get out from class.. suddenly one of my friends shouted at me that our class was here too. soon after that, our lecturer came. mrs.Dewi said that today we would discussed about midterm test materials. I'm so happy to hear that, hehehee
the rare thing that I got yesterday beside the knowledge from our lecturer, our class so crowded till there was some students that did not get the seat, that was why no other choice for them, they had to seat on the floor...how poor they are!!
well.. back to the first planning,, why I thought that I was lucky..
from the discussion yesterday I got some ideas that I did not get from the previous meeting...
here our discussion yesterday.... hopefully it will be useful for us especially for students who did not attend the class..
- firstly.. we discussed about the relation of speech and writing, here the conclusion :
- homophone
(tear) and (tier)
- homograph
- homonym
relationship
- homophone+homonym (different word,same sound, different function)
- homograph+homonym (same word,different sound, different function)
- free/simple word : can stay alone or can stay its self.
- bound/complex : can not stay alone
- bound base : can stay its self example : straw-berry
- bound contracted ('ll,'d,'nt,'re,'s,'ve)
- bound not always complex word but complex absolutely a bound
- open/content
- close/function
content /open : want,go
function/close : I,to
3. thirdly.. we discussed about derivational and inflectional
- derivational : when the word is added suffix the function is changed. when it is added prefix no change.
- inflectional : when the word is added suffix it does not change the function.
here the conclusion :
example : organizational
it is a complex word
it consists of three morphemes
one free morpheme (organize) as a verb
two bound derivational morphemes (ion) as a noun and (al) as an adjective.
the formation starts from :
organize (verb)
organization (noun)
organizational (adjective)
well.. that's all... have a nice read... hehheee
I need ur comments... or u may add some other that I did not do... or I missed
